Mi La Cay: Reviews & Ratings
My favorite is N1 Hủ tiểu. You can get it with rice noodle or egg noodle. I normally order the combo of both + in soup rather than soup on the side, topped with fried shrimp, fried pork and fried chicken. Amazing.
So comforting and delicious, I’ve only had their Mi Vit Tiem (duck noodle soup) and Mi Bo Kho (beef stew) delivered but have loved both.
My friend recommended this place. It’s definitely a hidden gem. The food is amazing. Got the noodle soup and you can get it with the soup on the side. It’s nice there is some free parking. The plaza looks rundown but the inside is really well maintained. It felt really clean and organized. The dessert was on point and generous. Vietnam coffee is tasty as well. They have some pickled jalapeño and those were an awesome addition to the noodles. The service is really friendly, warm, and quick.
The noodles are the star here. Definitely try them dry (soup on the side). BBQ duck is better than "duckling" (braised).
One of the few places my Asian chef parents would take us out to eat. Must get the N1 or N5, egg noodles, soup on the side, and maybe even extra soup on the side because this broth is AMAZING. I get this at least once a month, it's a Seattle staple. If I lived closer I'd probably get it once a week.
We work for a Hospital and start time is 5:30 am and it is very difficult to find a place that is open early enough for us to get lunch (we typically go to lunch from 9:30-10:30). We were so happy that we found a place that opened at 9 am and even happier that they delivered! Trinh was amazing on the food taking our massive order (21 entree and 8 coffee orders). She was very kind we we kept calling and adding on top of our order too! Everything was super delicious and it arrived rather quick with a everything that we had ordered.
The restaurant is located near Seattle International District (east side). Overall, the food is delicious. Our favorite meal was the egg noodles and crispy chow mien. The shrimp fried rice was a little bit dry, that was probably our least favorite meal. 18% tips included for 5 or more people. We spent $110 for 5 people (included tips). The portion is not too big, and not too small, it’s good for one person. We didn’t share our meal, and it was enough for us. The service was good, they were polite and helpful. Overall it was a good dinner experience.
They got warm sugar cane, little hard to communicate with the language barrier, it’s a mom and pop shop, the grandma speaks more English. The top dish will always be the duck noodles !

Located in the heart of Seattle, Mi La Cay offers an authentic dive into Vietnamese cuisine that balances tradition with bold flavors. Known for its standout noodle dishes, this restaurant elevates classic Vietnamese soups and stir-fries through skillful preparation and thoughtful presentation. Whether you choose the N1 Hủ Tiếu with a mix of rice and egg noodles or explore the Mi Vit Tiêm (duck noodle soup), each dish delivers a rich, layered broth and fresh ingredients that sing with every bite.
The noodles here are undeniably the stars—texts contrast beautifully with the soups served on the side, allowing diners full control over their bowl’s flavor balance. Dishes such as BBQ Pork Egg Noodles and Shrimp Fried Rice showcase the depth of flavor, while Crispy Chicken Wings and Calamari provide satisfying textures that complement the soups perfectly. The Vincent Van Gogh Salad offers a fresh, artistic touch, lightening the meal with vibrant, crisp greens.
Beyond the main courses, thoughtful extras like pickled jalapeños invigorate the palate, adding a subtle heat that harmonizes with the rich broths. Desserts are generous and well-crafted, a nod to the full Vietnamese dining experience, paired nicely with their robust Vietnam coffee.
What resonates deeply is the warm, attentive service and the clean, organized space that invites comfort despite the modest exterior of the plaza. Many regulars, including those with Vietnamese heritage, praise Mi La Cay as a Seattle staple that brings consistency and quality to authentic Vietnamese fare. It’s a place where every bowl, every crispy wing, and every sip of coffee feels intentional and elevated—making it a hidden gem worth discovering again and again.
